Shilpa is 5'10'' tall girl who is one of the tallest girl in bollywood, born in Karnataka. Her father is Surendor Shetty mother is Sunanda Shetty. They were model in their time. Shilpa has a younger sister Shamita Shetty who is also an actress in film industry.
She grown up in Karnataka at her childhood, later they moved to Mumbai. Shilpa has interest in sports and dancing at her student life. She has a black belt in Karate.She got married a business magnet Raj Kundra last year. Shilpa has no film background but she has devoted to her works and she get success in bollywood industry.

Shilpa started her career by "Bazzigar" with co-star Shahrukh and Kajol which was the one of the hit film in 1993.She was nominated for her first film among a few actress. In this movie she was played a college girl role and Kajol and Shilpa was two sister. After certain time, she was killed by Shahrukh Khan.
In the following year she gave another hit movie with Akhsay Kumar "Main Khiladi Tu Aanari". Then she acted in some average rate of film such as "Hathkadi", "Chote Sarkar", "Himmat", "Dus","Insaaf". "Pardesi Babu"(1998), "Janwaar"(1999) and then "Dadhkan"(2000) who was really did very much well in box office and Shipa got best actress for this role.

One film of Shilpa that is "Dhadkaan" with Akhsay Kumar and Sunil Shetty give her a new image in bollywood.She played a role as Anjeli who loved Sunil and later she got married with Akhsay.
Her other releases movies was "Rishtey" where she acted in a small role,"Badhaai Ho Badhai", "Junoon","Chor Machaayee Shore". In later time she again came in lime light by "Fareb"(2005), "Phir Milenge"," Dus" and "Life In A.. Metro" in 2007.
In "Fareb" she acted with her sister Shamita. Pepole said, she tried to give a support to her sister. Shamita was played a negative role in this picture. Another was "Phir Milenge" with Salman Khan. It was a AIDS awareness film work as a publicity against this problem in our society.
"Shaadi Karke Pash Geya Yaar" (2006) she was a super model in this picture who was very ambitious but in later she realized about her maternity. This one also with Salman Khan.
