Aishwarya was born in a Hindu family in Mangalore. Her parents Krishnaraj Rai and Vrinda Rai has deep faith in God. In early age, she started modeling. For her "blue eyes" and beauty,she became famous in all class of India. She first did a campaign of Garden Saree and Pepsi.


When she was a Architect student, she rejected many offer from bollywood. In later 1994, she won the crowned of Miss World and turned her life into a new era. She got again offers from many producer. She got married Abhishek Bacchan in 2007. She is called darling of bollywood.

Her first film was "Iruvar"(1997) critically acclaimed and then she got Screen best actress (debut) for "Aur Paayer Ho Gaya". The another movies of this bollywood diva is like "Taal", "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" it is a milestone of her and she received for this Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards.

In the mean time, she has cast another movies like as "Sanam Tere Hain Hum" (1999, as Nandini), "Mela" (2000, as Champakali),"Josh" (2000, as Shirley), "Mohabbatien" (2000, as Megha), "Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahi" (2002, as Komal), "Dil Ka Rishta" (2003, as Tia). These all were done average well in box office.

"Devdas" (2002) had released and it was admired all over the world. She awarded for this movie in Filmfare, Star and also IIFA. It was the most glorious moment for Ash. Bye this film, she reached to Cannes Film Festival and she is the first Indian who got place in Cannes official jurist member. Then she did "Sarkar Raj", "Hamara Dil Apke Pass Hai", "Aa Aab Lot Chale", "Guru" with Abhishek and so many who did average well in box office.

"Devdas" has helped her to build a place in hollywood. Everybody must be bound to give an extra respect to Ash. It was high time to prove herself in internationally.

Hollywood superstar Julia Roberts said about Ash, she is the best beautiful woman ever she have seen.At the very recent she completed a campaign with another superstar Ket Winslet and she also comments that Ash is more beautiful than Ket.

In this year she came back with the movie "Ravvan" with her real life husband Abhishek Bacchan. She work hard in this picture. Most of the work of this were done at water and Ash gives one more short to do perfect every scene in this film. This film was an another history for her to take place in the heart of nation.
